Certified Centre of national importance for contemporary art by the Ministry of Culture, 40mcube houses an exhibition space, a production workshop, a residency for artists and curators, a training centre and the Brittany office of the New patrons Society.
40mcube produces works, presents exhibitions in its own place or in other venues, and also in the public space. 40mcube sets up artists’ residencies, accompanies the commission of works, and offers a range of educational activities for the public to accompany them in their visit of the exhibitions.
40mcube is located in Rennes city center, in a building that gathers a 170 m2 exhibition space, a production studio, offices and meeting rooms.
- Exhibition production: 40mcube presents each year new exhibitions in Rennes. 40mcube also offers exhibitions in local, national and international partner venues: institutions, galleries, companies, communities, etc.
- The production of works: 40mcube accompanies artists at each stage of the realization of works of art and exhibitions.
- Artists’ residencies: 40mcube welcomes artists in residence for a time of reflection, conception, realization of their project and production of their works.
- Public art: 40mcube creates works intended to take place in the public space, allowing a simple, direct and convivial relationship between art, the city and the citizens.
- The New Patrons commissions: 40mcube is a member of the New Patrons Society and is the regional office in Brittany for the New Patrons initiative.
- Professional training: involved in the development of the visual arts sector, 40mcube offers long and short professional trainings for artists, as well as a digital training platform, artist for ever.
- Publics – educational program: each project developed by 40mcube is accompanied by the implementation of mediation actions that allow all audiences to be accompanied in the discovery of contemporary creation.

OPENING HOURS
- Exhibition: from Wednesday to Saturday, 2 pm – 7 pm. Closed on public holidays. During the installation of the new exhibitions, the art center is closed.
